2 Pommes 3 Pains is the game that will test your reactivity and concentration!
In turn, players reveal a card from one of the 3 piles on the table. The player who reveals the card then has 5 seconds to announce how many apples and breads are visible. In case of error, this player takes all the revealed cards.
But beware of pinecones, which each count for one apple... and 2 breads! Enough to make thinking much more complicated!
Other modules can be added to spice up the game even more. Laughter guaranteed!

How to play Two Apples, Three Breads?
Game Setup
- Shuffle all the cards (base cards and, if desired, special cards) and form a face-down deck.
- Place it in the center of the table.
- Players define the order of play, then the first player turns over the first card to start the game.
Gameplay outline
- In turn, each player draws a card from the deck, placing it face up in front of them or on a central discard pile.
- They then announce the total number of applesand the total number of loaves of breadvisible among all the face-up cards (also including the pine cone, which counts as one apple + two loaves of bread).
- If the announcement is correct, play passes to the next player; if it is incorrect or delayed, the offending player collects all visible cardsand adds them to their score (these are penalties).
- Special cards (e.g., French toast, applesauce annuity, etc.) can be introduced to make the game more challenging and add extra effects.
Win/Loss Condition
- The game ends when the draw pile is depleted anda player has no more cards to play, or when a predefined number of turns is decided upon.
- Then, the number of cards held by each player is counted; the one with the fewestwins the game.
- Penalty cards are therefore what must be avoided at all costs.
Our Tips for Winning
-
Anticipate the pine cone
The pine cone changes values: it is worth 1 apple and 2 loaves of bread. Keep this in mind so you aren't surprised in your bids.
-
Stay calm under pressure
The pace of the game is quickening: keep your announcements clear and fast, without hesitation – because a second of delay can cost you all visible cards.
-
Introduce the special cards gradually
For more experienced players, the effects of special cards modify calculations or add conditions: use them to surprise and gain a slight tactical advantage.
