8 qui Croc' (8 bites) is a solo microgame as compact as it is fiendishly clever. In this puzzle card game, you must organize a stack of creatures called Numbsters, use their special powers, and make them devour each other in the correct order to survive the terrible 8 qui Croc. Each turn requires you to anticipate your moves, optimize your actions, and prevent the hungry monster from reaching the top of your stack. Easy to carry and playable directly in your hand, this small format hides a true strategic challenge.

How to play 8-bit Croc?

Game Setup

Start the game with a randomly selected stack of Numbsters, plus the special card 8-Bite. Each Numbster has a number and a unique power that can alter the usual eating rules or offer new stack manipulation possibilities.

Gameplay outline

  • In each round, you add a new Numbster to the top of your stack. You can then rearrange your cards by moving a card or swapping the positions of two Numbsters to prepare the best possible combinations.
  • Next comes the feeding time: one Numbster must devour another, respecting the numbering rules and the special abilities in play. The creatures' powers sometimes allow for surprising actions and can create particularly effective chain reactions.
  • The card visible at the top of the stack is always active, which forces you to constantly think about the order of your cards. A wrong move can quickly make the situation uncontrollable.

Win/Loss Condition

You win the game if you manage to reduce your stack to a single Numbster accompanied by the Croc 8. However, if the Croc 8 card reaches the top of your stack, its uncontrollable hunger is triggered and you are immediately devoured. The game is then lost.

  • Control the order of your Numbsters stack

In 8-Bit Bite, the placement of each card is essential. Always try to anticipate several turns ahead to keep the best powers accessible and prepare your next bites.

  • Use special abilities at the best moment

Numbster powers can completely change the outcome of a game. Don't trigger them automatically; instead, look for the moment when their effect will allow you to solve several problems at once.

  • Avoid letting 8 Who Croc get back up

The threat of the 8 is ever-present. Monitor its position in the pile and plan your moves so that you're never left without a solution when it gets dangerously close to the top.
