Agent Avenue is a competitive card game for two players combining strategy, tactics, bluffing, and anticipation in a thrilling duel between retired spies. In a colorful neighborhood populated by anthropomorphic animals, you each play an agent determined to unmask your opponent by advancing on a strategic track. Every decision not only influences your progress but also your opponent's ability to counterattack. Thanks to its simple rules yet rich strategic depth, Agent Avenue is ideal for quick and intense games lasting 10 to 30 minutes.
How to play the game Agent Avenue?
Game Setup
- Remove the components from the box:53 Agent and Black Market cards,double-sided game board,2 spy pawns,2 player aidsandthe rulebook.
- Place the board in the center and each player chooses a spy pawn, which they place on the starting space.
- Shuffle the cards and deal them to each player to form their starting hand.
- Determine the first player. The spies are ready to face off!
Gameplay outline
- In each round, the active player selects two cards from their hand: they place one face upand one face downin front of them.
- The opponent chooses one of the two cards, places it in front of them, and immediately applies its effect. You then apply the effect of the unchosen card.
- Effects can influence progress on the track, move your pawn forward or backward, or trigger special abilities.
- Cards have effects that evolve based on the number of copiesyou have already recruited into your play area: an agent may be weak with one copy but very powerful with two, and sometimes even counterproductive beyond that.
- The game will advance through selection, bluff, and predictionof the opponent's intentions, making each round strategic.
Win/Loss Condition
The game ends when one player’s pawn catches up with the other’s on the track, symbolizing that they have unmasked the opposing spy. Victory then goes to the player who best anticipated, bluffed, and collected their agents.
