How to play Astro Knights?

Game Setup

  • Each player chooses a character / space knightwith their special ability.
  • The card reserves are placed: fuel, technology, weapons.
  • The Bossis prepared with their specific deck: there are four different Bosses, each with their own deck and unique abilities.
  • The game is ready when players have their starting deck, their equipment slots, and the Boss is configured.

Gameplay outline

  1. Turns: players and the Boss play in a random order each round.
  2. Player Actions: during their turn, each player can:
    - buy fuel, technology, or weaponsfrom the supply.
    - equip: place weapon cards in their slots according to their storage capacity.
    - attack the Boss based on equipped weapons.
    - gain new slotsto store more equipment.
    - use their special ability: each character has a unique power that can influence the game (power, economy, slots, etc.).
  3. Boss Turn: the Boss plays according to their specific deck, activating threats or attacks based on their mechanics.
  4. Deck Reorganization: since the deck is never shuffled, discarded cards are placed in an order chosen by the player, allowing for forward planning.
  5. Repetition: player/Boss turns are repeated until a victory or defeat condition is met.

Win/Loss Condition

  • Victory: players win if the Boss is defeated before he destroys the teamor the planet.
  • Defeat: if the Boss achieves his destructive objectives (in his abilities), the players lose.

It is therefore necessary to manage both offensive power and defense, while optimizing your deck.

  • Plan your discard order carefully

Since you never shuffle your deck, how you arrange your discarded cards is crucial: anticipate your next turns to maximize your synergies between fuel, tech, and weapons.

  • Prioritize buying slots

The more slots you have, the more powerful weapons you can store — and thus inflict more damage. Do not neglect this action, especially early in the game.

  • Balance your purchases between fuel, tech, and weapons

An unbalanced strategy (for example, taking only weapons) can leave you short on fuel or technology. Depending on the Boss you are fighting, adapt your purchase composition to maximize your performance.
