Bidibirdy is an observation-based children's game that invites young children to help little birds prepare their nest before the eggs hatch. Thanks to its simple rules and soft illustrations, this game develops children's visual logic, attention, and speed. Players must find the right decorations for their nest by manipulating tiles and be the quickest to catch a bird. Quick to play and easy to understand, Bidibirdy is an excellent first board game to share a fun moment with the family.
How do I play Bidibirdy?
Game Setup
Each player receives a board representing a nestas well as 4 double-sided decoration tiles. In the center of the table are placed three bird figurinesand a deck of Challenge cards.
The tiles show different nest decoration elements: leaves, flowers, feathers or small objects useful for welcoming the chicks.
Gameplay outline
In each round, a Challenge cardis revealed. It shows four elementsthat players must find among their tiles.
All players play simultaneously:
- they manipulate their tiles,
- flip them to reveal the correct faces,
- and try to reproduce the requested elements.
As soon as a player thinks they have found the four correct elements, they grab a wooden birdfrom the center of the table. Their tiles are then checked:
- if they match the Challenge card, they win a chick token,
- otherwise they score no points.
The game also offers a second level of difficulty: the tiles must not only show the correct elements but also be placed in the same order as on the card.
Win/Loss Condition
The game continues until one player has successfully collected 5 chick tokens.
This player wins the game and becomes the bird that has built the most beautiful nest to welcome its young.
