Blood on the Clocktower is a social game of deduction, bluffing, and hidden identity, now available in French version in a legendary collector's edition. Dive into the mysterious village of Ravenswood Bluff, where a Demon lurks among the inhabitants and each player takes on a secret role with unique powers. While some seek to unmask evil, others embody it and skillfully manipulate accusations to survive. This title is a modern evolution of classic hidden role games like Werewolf, but with richer mechanics, dynamic storytelling, and continuous involvement of all participants until the end of the game.

How to play Blood on the Clocktower?
Game Setup
- Set up the game box components: rulebooks and role almanacs, summary sheets, tokens, game aids, and the spellbook box, which serves as the Storyteller's tool.
- Together, choose a Storytellerwho does not belong to any team and will act as narrator-referee for the session.
- Distribute a secret roleto each player, which influences their alignment (Good or Evil) and grants them a special power.
- Place the necessary tokens for the chosen script (Trouble Brewing, Bad Moon Rising, Sects & Violets) face down or revealed, according to the scenario.
Gameplay outline
The game alternates between "night" and "day" phases, each with its own dynamics:
- Night phase: players close their eyes and, one by one, are woken by the Storyteller to use their power, receive or give information, sow doubt or eliminate an opponent.
- Day phase: all players discuss freely, exchange information, bluff, accuse and debate to try to unmask the Demon or the minions.
- At the end of a debate, a player can be executedif they are largely suspected of being part of the Evil. Whether this accusation is fair or erroneous, the consequences strongly influence the rest of the game.
- One of the game's original features is that eliminated players continue to participate, even after their death, influencing the game from beyond with their ghost abilities or passive information.
Win/Loss Condition
- The Goodteam wins if they manage to execute the Demonor fulfil specific narrative conditions depending on the scenario.
- The Evilteam wins if they survive long enough to prevent the villagers from discovering the truth or fulfil their own secret conditions.
Every game is different thanks to the enormous variety of roles, complex interactions between powers and the Storyteller's decisions.
Our Tips for Winning
-
Anticipate and bluff consistently
In this type of social deduction game, your statements must be plausible: an overly aggressive or incoherent bluff can quickly expose you to a vote. Keep credible pieces of information to better influence discussions.
-
Listen carefully to the other players
Clues, half-confessions, or contradictions in discussions are your best allies for deducing hidden identities. Don't rush, and let others incriminate themselves.
-
Use your role to its full potential
Each role has unique powers that, when used well, can turn the tide of the game. Learn not only your own ability, but also how it interacts with the other characters known in the scenario.
