Burn Out is a fast-paced, crazy card game that plunges you into the ruthless world of a start-up where everyone tries to make it to the weekend... by making their colleagues' lives more difficult. With sabotage cards, thefts, surprise effects, and actions playable even during other players' turns, games follow one another at a frantic pace. Easy to learn and full of twists and turns, Burn Out relies on constant interaction, plot twists, and a good dose of humor to liven up your evenings.
How to play Burnout?
Game Setup
- Each player receives 4 cardsin hand.
- The remaining cards form a draw pile in the center of the table. The goal is not only to get rid of your hand, but especially to successfully end the game at the right time… when the weekend finally arrives!
Gameplay outline
- In turn, a player plays a card and immediately applies its effect.
- Some cards force an opponent to draw, others allow you to steal a card, change the course of the game, or disrupt other players' plans. Effects follow one another rapidly, and it's not uncommon to see a strategy completely overturned in a few seconds.
- One of Burn Out's unique features is that some cards can be played out of turn, creating constant interaction between players. It's impossible to relax: even when another player acts, you can still intervene and turn the situation to your advantage.
- If you play your last card before the weekendhas even started, unfortunately, your workday isn't over: you must immediately draw four new cardsand start again. You'll therefore need to carefully manage the timing of your discards to hope to win.
Win/Loss Condition
- The first player to get rid of all their cards as the weekend progresseswins the game.
- Playing all your cards too early, on the other hand, can force you to start over with a new hand, completely restarting the game.
