How to play Canardage?

Game Setup

At the beginning of the game, the Duck and Pond cardsare arranged on the board to form a line of ducks. Each player then receives a duck color to protect.

Players also have Action cards, which will be used to aim, shoot, or change the position of the ducks in the line.

Gameplay outline

In turn, a player simply chooses one of the three cards in their handand applies its effect.

For example, cards allow you to:

  • Shoot a duckto eliminate it.
  • Change the order of the ducksto hide behind others.
  • Protect your own ducksby putting them in safety.

Players must constantly adapt their strategy, as positions change regularly and attacks can come from any side.

A particularly fun element of the game: even if you lose all your ducks, you can continue to shoot at other playersto get revenge.

Win/Loss Condition

The game continues until only one duck is left on the board.

The player who owns the last duck still alivewins the game and becomes champion of the pond.

  • Using other ducks as shields

Position in the queue is essential. Try to place your ducks behind those of your opponents so they become the first targets.

  • Keep your most powerful cards

Some cards can totally change the situation. Waiting for the right moment to play them can allow you to eliminate several opponents at once.

  • Taking advantage of changing situations

Even if you're eliminated, you can still influence the game. Use this opportunity to disrupt the strategy of the players still in the running.
