How to Play Carnival of Sins?

Game Setup

Each player receives 7 cards representing the deadly sins. These cards make up your action reserve for the entire game. In the center of the table, several dice of different valuesare used to generate points.

One player receives the Devil card, which indicates the first player of the round and allows them to roll the dice.

Gameplay outline

The game consists of 7 rounds.

  1. The player with the Devil card rolls all the dice into the center of the table.
  2. Each player secretly chooses a Sin cardfrom their hand and places it face down.
  3. The cards are revealed and then resolved in a specific order, triggering their special effects.

These powers allow you, for example, to:

  • collect certain dice to score points
  • copy or counter an opponent's action
  • manipulate the outcome or sabotage other players' plans

Each Sin card can only be played once per game, which forces you to plan your timing carefully and anticipate opponents' choices.

Win/Loss Condition

After 7 rounds, players count points obtained from retrieved dice and card effects.

The player who has accumulated the most pointsis crowned Carnival Monarch, rewarding their cunning and ability to manipulate opponents.

  • Choosing the right time for each sin

Each card can only be played once. Save the most powerful abilities for key moments, when the dice in play are particularly interesting.

  • Observe other players' intentions

Reading your opponents' game is essential. Try to anticipate which cards your opponents haven't used yet to avoid unpleasant surprises.

  • Enjoy the most profitable dice

Not all dice have the same value. Prioritize those that can earn you the most points, even if it means taking risks.
