How to play Carnuta?

Game Setup

  • Place the central game board, which represents a developing forest.
  • Each player receives their personal board, tree tiles, resources (acorns, fruits, etc.) and their pawns.
  • Shuffle the objective cardsand place them within reach.
  • Decide how many rounds the game will last according to the rules (often 8 to 10 rounds).

Gameplay outline

  • Each turn, players choose simultaneous actionsfrom several possibilities: planting trees, moving animals, gathering resources, or playing bonus cards.
  • The core of the game lies in ecological balance: each plant or action influences the state of the forest — the more diversity you create, the more your forest thrives.
  • Trees produce specific effects depending on their location and neighbors: some combinations allow you to multiply points, while others provide resources.
  • Objective cards can grant additional points if you meet certain conditions (trees of the same species, connected areas, etc.).

Win/Loss Condition

  • At the end of the last round, players count their victory points: correctly planted trees, completed objectives, and accumulated resources all count towards the score.
  • The player with the most pointswins the game, becoming Carnuta's most effective protector.
  • Defeat occurs if you have not preserved the ecological balance of your forest or if your score is lower than your opponents' at the end of the rounds.
