Circadia is a strategic card game in which you embody a Guide of the Dream Paths, tasked with restoring balance to a world inhabited by mythical creatures. By forming the best families of creatures, you can claim valuable habitats and accumulate Balance points. But be warned: the habitats you gain must strictly alternate between Day and Night, forcing you to anticipate each of your choices. Accessible in its rules yet rich in tactical decisions, Circadia combines card collection, hand management, and optimization within a poetic, superbly illustrated universe.

How to play Circadia?
Game Setup
- Habitat cards are placed in the center of the table to create different scoring opportunities.
- Each player receives a hand of Creature cards. These mythical creatures belong to several families and will be used to build increasingly powerful sets to conquer available habitats.
Gameplay outline
- In turn, a player plays Creature cards from their hand to form a set.
- The larger the set, the more valuable an Habitat it allows them to claim. Each Habitat immediately grants Balance points and adds to your personal collection.
- The entire subtlety of the game lies in a crucial constraint: claimed Habitats must alternate between Dayand Night. It's impossible to claim two Habitats of the same type in a row. You must constantly adapt your strategy, sometimes foregoing an immediate opportunity to prepare a better sequence in subsequent turns.
- Throughout the game, players optimize their hand, choose the right moment to play their creatures, and strive to maintain the best possible balance to maximize their final score.
Win/Loss Condition
- As soon as a player reaches 15 Balance points, the end of the game is triggered.
- All other players take one last turn before the final scoring. The Guide with the most Balance points wins the game and becomes the Guardian of the Eternal Cycle.
Our Tips for Winning
-
Anticipate the alternation of Day and Night
Don't just choose the most profitable Habitat: also consider the one that will allow you to recover later.
-
Create large assemblies
Waiting for an additional card often allows you to claim a much more interesting Habitat.
-
Manage your hand carefully
Not all creatures are useful immediately. Keep some cards to prepare your next turns.
