How to play Courtiers?

Game Setup

Before you start:

  • Shuffle the cards and deal a hand to each player.
  • Place the scoring or prestige elements in the center of the table.
  • Each player starts with the same chances of success.

The game is quick to set up, allowing you to start a game in a few moments.

Gameplay outline

Each turn, players will:

  1. Play a card from their hand.
  2. Influence the court based on the effects of the card played.
  3. Interact with other players by shifting power balances.

Actions allow you to:

  • Gain prestige.
  • Manipulate the positions of courtiers.

Win/Loss Condition

The game ends when an end condition is met (end of draw pile or score threshold).

The player who has accumulated the most prestigeor who has best taken advantage of the intrigues wins the game.
