How to play as Dany?

Game Setup

Before starting the game:

  • Each player receives a secret role card: either a secondary personality or Dany himself.
  • The "Memory" and "Idea" cards are shuffled and placed in the center.
  • One player becomes the active personalityto start the game.

The objective depends on your role: cooperate to have ideas guessed... or discreetly sabotage exchanges if you are playing as Dany.

Gameplay outline

Each round unfolds in several steps:

  1. The active player receives an idea to be guessed from several suggestions.
  2. They use "Souvenir" cards to convey a visual message to the other players.
  3. The players discuss and try to interpret these clues.
  4. A collective answer is given, validating a success or a failure.

But beware:

  • The players cooperate... except for Dany, who tries to mislead the others.
  • The cards can be used freely (stacked, hidden, staged), which encourages creativity and bluffing.

Each round then becomes a subtle mix of communication and manipulation.

Win/Loss Condition

The game evolves based on the results:

  • 6 successes: Secondary characters win the game.
  • 3 failures or end of draw pile: A final vote is triggered to identify Dany.

If Dany is unmasked, the other players win.
Otherwise, Dany wins the game by having sown chaos.

  • Note the inconsistencies in the proposals

Dany's bluffs often rely on slightly skewed or inconsistent clues. Carefully analyze the visual proposals and discussions: an over-the-top interpretation might hide an attempt at sabotage.

  • Adapting your communication to your role

If you are a secondary character, be clear without being too obvious. Conversely, if you are Dany, find the right balance between helpfulness and confusion: too much sabotage will give you away, but being too cooperative might lead to others winning.

  • Unleashing the creativity of maps

"Souvenir" cards are not just for displaying images: their position, orientation, or combination can convey subtle clues. The more creative you are, the more effectively you can communicate... or manipulate other players.

FAQ – All About Dany

Why is Dany considered a unique bluffing game?

Unlike many classic bluffing games, Dany blends visual communication, cooperation, and hidden roles. Players must both collaborate to succeed and constantly be wary of a traitor. This dual dynamic creates constant tension and makes every game unpredictable.

Does the game rely more on deduction or bluffing?

The two are inseparable. Deduction allows for the interpretation of clues and the identification of Dany, while bluffing comes into play in how one communicates and manipulates others. A good player must know how to alternate between logical analysis and social intuition.

Is this game beginner-friendly?

Yes, the rules are easy to understand, but the game really comes into its own after a few rounds. New players can quickly have fun, while experienced players develop more subtle strategies around bluffing and communication.

How to recognize the actor who plays Dany?

There is no foolproof method. However, Dany tends to offer ambiguous clues or subtly steer discussions. Observing behaviors over several turns is often more effective than relying on a single action.
