Dewan is a tactical and dynamic strategy game where every decision counts. Embody the leader of a tribe in search of rich lands and resources to write your own history before your rivals. Each turn, you'll have to choose between adding Terrain cards to your hand or placing a camp on the map, all while exploiting landscapes and resources to achieve your objectives. Quick to learn but rich in choices, Dewan offers an intense and fluid strategic experience for both novice and experienced players alike.
How to play Dewan?
Game Setup
- Place the territory boardin the center of the table.
- Shuffle the Terrain cardsand form a face-up card river.
- Each player chooses a tribe and takes their Camps and resource tokens.
- Shuffle and place the Story tiles, which will serve as objectives for scoring points.
Gameplay outline
In turn, you choose one of the following two actions:
- Take 2 Terrain cards: select two adjacent cards from the river and add them to your hand.
- Place a Camp: choose one of your Camps already on the board as a starting point, then discard one Terrain card from your hand for each space traversed to your destination. You cannot place a camp on a water space in standard mode.
The Story tilesassign objectives (types of terrain to occupy, resources to collect, etc.). Completing them earns points at the end of the game.
Win/Loss Condition
- Victory: At the end of the game — triggered when a player places their last Camp and the round ends — points are totaled for completed Story Tiles, collected resources (berries, fire, etc.), and camp connections. The player with the most pointswins the game.
- Tie: If multiple players have the same score, the player with the most Terrain cards in their handwins honorably.
