This fast-paced and clever card game is based on a simple but brilliant idea: all cards have two different values depending on their orientation. In each round, players try to get rid of their hand by creating the best possible combinations, while disrupting those of their opponents. Fast, chaotic, and extremely interactive, Dnup combines hand management, timing, and constant reversals of fortune.
How to play Dnup?
Game Setup
- Each player receives a hand of cards. The Letter tokens are placed in the center of the table, and the Player Aid cards are distributed.
- Players then choose a first player before starting the round.
Gameplay outline
- In turn, a player can perform several types of actions: placing a combination of cards in front of them, adding a card to an existing combination held by an opponent, taking an opponent's combination, or flipping all the cards in their hand.
- The unique feature of Dnup is that cards have two different values depending on their orientation. When a combination returns to your hand, the cards must be rotated, which completely changes their value and can entirely alter your strategy.
- Players must constantly observe the combinations on the table to anticipate upcoming moves and avoid picking up cards that have become difficult to play. Games are very dynamic, with comebacks almost every turn.
Win/Loss Condition
The first player to empty their hand wins the round and earns Letter tokens. The player who first spells out the word "DNUP" wins the game.
