How to play Dodelido?

Game Setup

  • Each player receives a face-down pile of cards, distributed equally.
  • Three discard piles are placed in the center of the table.
  • Players keep their cards in a pile, without looking at them.
  • The youngest player starts, and then the game proceeds clockwise.

Gameplay outline

  • In turn, a player flips over the top card of their stack and places it on one of the three central piles.
  • They must immediately announce the correct information based on the visible cards.
  • They announce an animal if one species is in the majority.
  • They announce a color if one color dominates.
  • They say "Dodelido" if there is a tie between animal and color.
  • They say "Nothing" if there is no match.
  • Some special cards disrupt the game:
    The turtle forces players to add "Uh" before speaking.
    The crocodile triggers a collective reflex where all players must quickly slap their hands.
  • In case of error, hesitation, or omission, the player takes all the visible cards.

Win/Loss Condition

  • The goal is simple: be the first player to get rid of all your cards.
  • One mistake can make you pick up a large number of cards, which greatly slows down your progress.
  • Victory goes to the fastest, most accurate… and most focused player.
