Immerse yourself in the dark and captivating world of this cooperative adventure game, set before the events of the original saga. You play as a group of mercenaries across four unique classes, brought together to investigate a mysterious disappearance in the city.
Throughout a rich campaign of 25 scenarios, the balance between tactics, hand management, and narrative progression draws you into an immersive experience. The atmosphere blends exploration, combat, strategic choices, and character power-ups within a fantastic setting.
How do you play the game?
Game Setup
Choose your characters from the four available: the Valrath Red Guard (tank), the Inox Hatchet (ranged damage), the Human Voidwarden (support/control), the Quatryl Demolitionist (melee damage/obstacles).
Choose a scenario from the campaign book and set up the room map, appropriate monsters, Treasure tokens, Trap tokens, etc., according to the scenario.
Each player builds their hand of ability cards, prepares their attack modifier deck, their tokens, their items, and marks their hit points / XP. Also, place the Elemental tokens in the "Inert" column.
Gameplay outline
Each round:
Each player chooses two action cards from their hand (one for the "top" action, one for the "bottom" action).
Monsters draw an activation card showing their initiative and behavior.
Determine the initiative order (player and monster values), and each actor takes their turn: movement, attack, summoning, searching, etc.
At the end of the round: resolve any effects, reshuffle decks when necessary, elemental tokens change state (strong → weak → inert).
Win/Loss Condition
Victory: fulfill the specific objective of the scenario (e.g., eliminate all enemies, reach a location, rescue a character) before your characters are exhausted or wiped out.
Defeat: if all heroes are eliminated or if a player can no longer play (exhaustion of hand with no possibility of rest), the campaign ends and the scenario is lost.
