How to play?

Game Setup

Open the envelope provided in the box: it contains about forty documents (files, letters, photos, family trees, 3D plan, etc.).

Make sure you have a smartphone, tablet, or computer with an internet connection: some evidence is online.

Prepare paper and pens: taking notes and making deductions will be essential.

Follow the instructions on the back of the envelope to open the documents in the correct order.

Gameplay outline

Initial Reading: All players read the initial documents together to establish the context of the investigation.

Collaborative Analysis: Investigators discuss the evidence, formulate hypotheses, and divide tasks (some analyze documents, others conduct online research).

Multimedia Consultation: Listen to audio recordings, watch videos, review provided emails or screenshots, and cross-reference information with physical documents.

Use of 3D Map & Family Tree: These tools help visualize the crime scene and relationships between characters to better place the evidence.

Deductions and Debates: Share your theories, confront motives and alibis, and adjust your hypotheses based on new elements.

Win/Loss Condition

Victory: You successfully identify the culprit(s), explain the motive, and enter the correct solution on the official Hidden Games website to trigger the audio/video epilogue.

Defeat: You make a wrong deduction or enter an incorrect solution, and the epilogue does not match or reveals that you haven't found the complete truth.

  • Clearly define roles among investigators

Assign clear roles from the start: one or two players can be responsible for analyzing written documents, others for online research, and one can act as a link between the two.

This division prevents redundancy and allows for smoother progress.

  • Utilize all available resources

Do not neglect any type of document: video testimonies, audio recordings, or emails may contain crucial details that simple files do not show.

  • Cross-reference hypotheses and verify alibis

When you formulate a theory, test it against every piece of evidence: ask yourself questions like "who benefited from the death?", "who had a shaky alibi?", "are there any contradictions?". Debate among players is often key to uncovering the truth.
