| 2 to 6 players | 20 to 40 min | Ages 10+ |
Immerse yourself in the political and mysterious world of Hidden Leaders, a strategic and dynamic card game for 2 to 6 players. In a kingdom in turmoil after the Emperor's death, each player embodies a secret heir, allied with two of the four major factions.
By playing heroes — openly or secretly — you attempt to influence the conflict and lead your faction to victory. A fast-paced game of bluff, strategy, and deduction, with direct interactions

How to play Hidden Leaders?
Game Setup
- Each player receives a secret Leader, allied with two of the four factions.
- Set up the central board: draw pile, tavern, port, graveyard (deceased emperor), and playing areas.
- Each player draws an initial hand (typically 5 cards).
- Prepare a space for your personal "tableau," where you will place your Hero cards, face up or face down, depending on your strategy.
Gameplay outline
In each round, players perform the following actions:
- Play a Hero card from their hand—either face up or face down—into their personal tableau, or discard up to 3 cards.
- Place power markers, which will affect the influence of the factions.
- Replenish their hand: draw up to a defined number, depending on the "Harbor" or "Tavern" zones.
The game thus alternates between card placement, hand management, and bluffing/influence until the end conditions are met.
Win/Loss Condition
At the end of the game, one of the four factions wins based on the relative influence of the colors
Red in the lead → Red victory
- Green in the lead → Green victory
- Red & Green tie → Blue victory
- Red and Green in war zone → Black victory
Each player allied with the victorious faction can win the game — but only if they have more heroes of that color than any competitor.
Our Tips for Winning
-
Play hide and seek cleverly
Don't reveal your Hero cards too early—bluffing and secrecy are part of the mechanics. Play some heroes face down to hide your intentions and surprise your opponents when they are revealed.
-
Observe their adverse actions to guess their factions
Pay attention to the cards others play (visible or hidden) and to the power markers placed: these clues can help you guess which faction they are allied with. Adapting your choices accordingly can tip the balance.
-
Manage your hand carefully — don't waste your cards
Discarding up to 3 cards can be useful, but it reduces your options. Try to keep key heroes or strategic cards for decisive moments. Think carefully about each play.

Interaction is direct: bluffing, reading opponents' choices, managing collective influence — everything is designed to force players to observe, anticipate, and react.
Does the game require a lot of strategy or can it be played casually?
