Interception is a card and bluffing game set against a backdrop of espionage and corruption, where 4 players face off in two teams for secret exchanges of money or compromising documents. In this compact Micro-Game, discreet communication, bluffing, and dirty tricks punctuate tense games lasting approximately 25–30 minutes.
Highly accessible and quick to set up, Interception guarantees fast-paced, intense, and suspenseful games.

How to play Interception?
Game Setup
- The game is played exclusively with 4 players, divided into two teams of two: on one side, the "corrupt politicians," and on the other, the "investigative journalists."
- Each player receives 5 cards, each with two possible sides: "money" or "document."
- Before the start of the round, teammates agree on a secret code to indicate how they will orient their cards (money or document).
Gameplay outline
- In turn, the 4 players simultaneously play a face-up card according to the secret code agreed upon with their partner.
- If the "journalists" believe they have guessed the corrupt team's code, they can shout "Interception!" and then attempt to guess the code.
- If their guess is correct, the journalists immediately win the game. Otherwise, they lose a card from their hand.
- After the cards for the round are revealed, players whose intentions were not intercepted retrieve their cards; the others lose them. The game continues until one of the players runs out of cards.
Win/Loss Condition
- A team wins instantly if the journalists correctly intercept and reveal the code.
- Otherwise, the team that makes one of its opponents lose all their cards wins the game.
Our Tips for Winning
-
Remember the code, communicate clearly
A poorly memorized or unclear code is a guaranteed defeat. Before you start, make sure that you and your teammate have perfectly understood and remembered the agreed-upon signals.
-
Watch out for adverse behaviors to detect a bluff
The game relies heavily on observation. If your opponents hesitate or frequently change cards, this could indicate an attempted bribe or a code to be intercepted. Pay attention to their hesitations, reactions, or strange patterns.
-
Use the "Interception!" at the right time
Do not intercept from the start, as you risk revealing your strategy too early. Wait until a suspicious behavior is repeated or a change in posture indicates an inconsistency to maximize your chances of correctly guessing the code.
