How to play Ito?

Game Setup

  • Shuffle the Number cards and deal one to each player.
  • Place a Theme card in the center.
  • Each player privately looks at their secret number.

Gameplay outline

  • Each player gives a clue related to the theme, whose strength or relevance should reflect their number (from very weak to very strong).
  • Once the clues are revealed, the group discusses to try and establish the ascending order of the numbers.
  • Players are placed from weakest to strongest.
  • The actual order is checked: if the sequence is correct, the group scores points.

Win/Loss Condition

After several rounds, the score obtained is compared to the game's success scale. The team wins if they exceed the set threshold.

Our Tips for Winning

  • Provide "graduated" hints

    Your clue must be easily rankable between that of another player and that of a third player.

  • Not too vague, not too precise

    A clue that's too vague is unusable. Too precise, it almost gives away your number. Look for balance.

  • Analyze the index variances

    If two players give very similar clues, suspect a proximity of numbers. The sorting often happens there.
