How to Play Pig?

Game Setup

  1. Each player receives a score sheet from the provided pad.
  2. Place the two "pig dice" on the table, ready to be thrown.
  3. Determine the order of play; typically, play proceeds clockwise.

Gameplay outline

  • At the beginning of their turn, the player throws the two pigs. Depending on how they land (on their side, on their back, standing up, etc.), different combinationsearn points.
  • After each throw, the player can decide to re-throwthe pigs to accumulate more points, but with a risk: certain results (such as a "pig out" or a "makin' bacon") cause the loss of points acquired during that turn.
  • The player can stop at any time, add the points from that turn to their total, and then pass the thrower to their neighbor.

Win/Loss Condition

  • The first player to reach or exceed 100 pointswins the game.
  • If, during a risky throw, a player lands on a "disastrous" combination (zero pig, good ham, etc.), they lose all the points accumulated during that turn, which can significantly slow down their progress.

    Rerolling your pigs offers chances of big gains, but greatly increases the risk. If you are already close to 100 points, playing more cautiously can be key to winning.

    Take a moment to familiarize yourself with the possible outcomes of throws and the values associated with the different pig positions. This knowledge will guide your re-throw decisions.

  • Mastering the pressure of "losing everything"

    Don't immediately give in to the urge to re-roll when the gains are good: remember that some rolls can wipe everything out. Sometimes, it's better to secure your points.
