King of Tokyo

• Place the Tokyo board in the center of the table and each player chooses a monster (figure and corresponding sheet).
• Each monster starts with 10 health points and 0 victory points.
• Prepare the special dice, the Energy / Power cards, and the point tokens.
• Determine the first player, then place all monsters outside of Tokyo.

A game of King of Tokyo unfolds in successive turns comprising three stages:

1. Roll the Dice
You roll six special dice (with faces: numbers 1, 2, 3, heart, attack, and energy). You can re-roll up to three times, like in Yahtzee, keeping the dice you want between each roll. Depending on the results, you can:

• accumulate victory points,
• gain energy cubes,
• heal damage,
• attack your opponents.

2. Resolve the Results

• Points scored by numbers count as victory points.
• Energy cubes allow you to buy Power cards that offer special abilities.
• Hearts restore life… unless you are in Tokyo, where you cannot heal.
• Attacks inflict damage on opposing monsters based on your position.

3. Enter / Exit Tokyo

• If you attack from outside Tokyo and Tokyo is empty, you immediately enter Tokyo. If multiple players are in Tokyo (or Tokyo Bay in a 5-6 player configuration), interactions become more intense: inside, your attacks hit everyone else, but you cannot heal yourself.
• At the end of your turn, you can buy Power cards with your energy cubes, which modify your abilities or grant you bonuses.

• Win by Points: The first player to reach 20 Victory Pointsinstantly wins the game.
• Win by Elimination: You also win the game if you are the last monster standing, with all your opponents having fallen to 0 Hit Points.
• Elimination: If your monster falls to 0 Hit Points, you are eliminated from the game, but play continues between the other players until one of the win conditions is met.
