Knarr: Skali is an expansion for the base game Knarr, a fast-paced card and management game where you play as a Viking chief leading your crew.
In this expansion, you now develop your own village around a skáli (a large Scandinavian farmhouse), adding a dimension of construction and strategic planning.

How to play Knarr?

Game Setup

Place the central board in the middle of the table and prepare the two types of cards: Commercial Lands and Lands of Influence (each revealed in three copies).

Distribute one ship board, 3 silver bracelets, and 3 recruit tokens to each player, along with an initial hand of Viking cards.

Arrange the remaining Viking cards in a visible line to form the recruitment market.

Gameplay outline

In turn, each player performs one of two main actions:

  • Recruit Vikings: Play a card to strengthen your crew and activate bonuses based on the colors aligned.
  • Explore New Lands: Spend cards of your choice to take a Destination card, generating resources and points.
    In addition, each turn, you can exchange silver bracelets to trigger additional effects on your board.

Win/Loss Condition

The game ends when a player reaches or exceeds a predetermined score threshold (often around 40 points). All players then complete the same number of turns, and the player with the highest score wins.
