How to play Lacuna?
Game Setup
Unfold the game mat in the center of the table to represent the pond dotted with flowers. Distribute the 49 flowers (7 of each color) randomly and evenly on the mat. Each player takes 6 metal tokens of one color (gold or silver) and sets them aside. Mix the flowers thoroughly to ensure a different configuration for each game
Gameplay outline
Players take turns placing one of their tokens according to a simple rule: choose two flowers of the same color between which an imaginary straight line can be drawn, then place a token anywhere along that line. By placing a token in this way, the player immediately collects these two flowers in their scoring area. Placement is strategic: it influences distances and the selection of future flowers available to you and your opponent.
Win/Loss Condition
Once all 12 pawns have been placed, the collected flowers are counted. Each player tries to get the majority of flowers in each color: if you have 4 or more flowers of one color, you "win" that color. The player who wins the majority of colors (for example, 4 out of 7 colors) wins the game, outperforming the opponent thanks to better control of the floral zones.
