Dive into Leaders, an intense tactical board game designed for two players where strategy, anticipation, and decision-making count with every move.
In a mythical realm that has been at peace for millennia, two aspirants to power recruit and maneuver unique champions to capture the opposing Leader. Quick to learn but deep in its possibilities, this game offers thrilling duels with every session. Whether you are a fan of abstract or competitive games, Leaders promises captivating and renewed confrontations.

How to play Leaders?
Game Setup
Set up the game board between the two players. Each player immediately receives their Leader, placed in their starting zone. Then, place three visible Character cards to form the available recruitment "river." The remaining characters are ready to be recruited as the game progresses.
Gameplay outline
A game of Leaders unfolds in alternating turns, consisting of two main phases:
- Action Phase: The active player can, for each of their Characters present on the board, perform one action. They can either move a Character to an adjacent empty space, or activate the special ability associated with that Character. Each power can change the course of the duel or open a strategic path to victory.
- Recruitment Phase: After performing their actions, the player can recruit a new Character from the three available and add it to their side, up to a maximum of five characters (Leader included).
Players compete by maneuvering their characters and exploiting their unique abilities to gain a tactical advantage on the board.
Win/Loss Condition
The game ends when a player manages to capture the opponent's Leader, which can be achieved either by bringing two of your characters to squares adjacent to the enemy Leader, or by completely surrounding this Leader with your units. Careful planning and intelligent team management are essential to achieve this objective before your opponent.
Our Tips for Winning
-
Master the characters' unique skills
Each champion has a special ability that can turn the tide of battle. Learn their effects, anticipate their combinations, and use them at the opportune moment to surprise your opponent.
-
Control the central board area
Controlling key squares allows you to restrict your opponent's movement options while creating capture opportunities. Look for positions that offer multiple threats.
-
Anticipate adversarial moves
Don't just play your own moves: observe and anticipate your opponent's intentions. Sometimes, a subtle defense is more effective than a direct attack.
FAQ – All About Leaders
What makes Leaders unique among two-player games?
Leaders combines dynamic recruitment mechanics with an abstract combat system where each character has a distinctive ability, creating tactically rich duels with meaningful decisions.
Can the duration or difficulty of the games be adjusted?
Yes. Although designed for quick games (approximately 10 to 15 minutes), you can adjust your playstyle — for example, by modifying the number of characters recruited or by introducing house rules for longer games.
What's the best strategy for surrounding a Leader?
Plan your moves several turns ahead by combining your characters to progressively close the spaces around the enemy Leader, while preventing your opponent from using their own advantageous positions.
Are character skills easy to learn?
Yes. Each Character has a clear and unique ability. Spending time understanding their interactions is key to developing effective strategies.
