Les Veilleurs is a solo narrative and tactical gamebook that plunges you into a rich and mysterious medieval-fantasy universe called Austerion.
Following an earthquake revealing ancient legendary underground passages, your protagonist embarks on an adventure to uncover the secrets buried deep within the dungeon's entrails.
Between confrontations, exploration, strategic choices, and resource management, each decision shapes your progression and confronts you with the terrible Veilleurs who fiercely guard these depths.

How to play The Watchers?
Game Setup
Open the boxand take out:
- The main narrative book,
- The location mapsto explore,
- The cards, character sheets, and regional map.
Place the materials in front of you for a clear overview.
Choose your character:
- A titanic cultist, whose goal is to fully open the underground to plunder its secrets,
- A divine agent, determined to destroy or permanently seal the dungeon entrance.
Either offers a different narrative objective, increasing replayability.
Gameplay outline
- The adventure unfolds as a guided paragraph: at each step, you read a passage and choose from several options.
- Your decisions lead you to numbered sections, revealing events, encounters, tactical battles, or effects related to your previous choices.
- You use location plans and mapsto visualize your progress and understand the environments you explore.
- Your exploration must be cautious: the Watchers fiercely defend their territories, and confrontations require thoughtful decision-making, sometimes with the help of dice or new mechanisms depending on the adventure's context.
Win/Loss Condition
- Victory: Reach the relatively favorable end of the scenario by achieving your objective (opening and plundering the dungeon or sealing it), while overcoming narrative challenges.
