How to play the game Tsukiji Market?
Game Setup
Each player has a playing area and the fish cards are made available. The scale and the marker (barrel) are placed in the center. Each player prepares to secretly bid a number between 1 and 4 with their fingers.
Gameplay outline
In each round, both players simultaneously reveal their bid. The player with the highest bid wins the choice of a fish card, while the balance shifts according to the difference between the bids.
But be careful: the higher you bid, the more you risk giving a strategic advantage to your opponent if the balance tips too far. Some cards also have special effects that spice up the game and can turn the tide.
Win/Loss Condition
There are two ways to win:
- Create optimal card combinations (suits, symbols, wasabi).
- Trigger an immediate win condition with certain powerful combinations.
The game rewards strategy as much as the ability to anticipate opponents' choices.
Our Tips for Winning
-
Mastering bluffing and betting
Don't always bet big. Alternating between small and large bets makes your intentions unpredictable and destabilizes your opponent.
-
Intelligently control the scale
Balance is at the heart of the game: pushing it too far can give your opponent a decisive advantage. Always look for the optimal balance.
-
Optimizing Your Fish Collections
Some combinations are worth much more than others. Anticipate the synergies between cards rather than playing them one by one.
