How to play Nano Dig?

Game Setup

Each player has a dog and starts with a hand of cards. The playing field represents a garden with different zones, including bone locations and colored bowls.

Gameplay outline

Each turn:

Move your dog around the garden to dig up bones.

The more bones you carry, the more limited your movement becomes.

Drop your bones into the corresponding bowls to lighten your load and maximize your score.

Adjust your movements to anticipate the best areas.

The core of the game lies in a constant balance between risk-taking and mobility management.

Win/Loss Condition

The game ends when the end conditions are met. Players score points based on:

  • the bones collected,
  • their placement in the correct bowls,
  • and the final value of the zones, which varies according to their position.
  • Manage your bone load intelligently

Accumulating too many bones too quickly can slow you down significantly. Find the right balance between collecting and depositing.

  • Anticipate the locations of feeding bowls

The value of bones depends on their final destination. Position yourself early to reach the best bowls.

  • Optimize your travel

Every move counts: plan several turns ahead to avoid getting stuck.
