How to Play the Nekojima Torii Pack Game?

Game Setup

Install the base game Nekojima, then add the expansion elements: the Torii and the Maneki-Neko. The board remains unchanged, but these new components significantly alter the placement constraints. The material is added to the center or integrated according to the rules of the base game.

Gameplay outline

In each round, players continue to place utility poles (Denchuu) as in the original game. However, two new rules complicate construction:

  • The Toriimust never be touched by cables, poles, or cats. If this happens, the offending element must be adjusted immediately.
  • The Maneki-Nekomust be hung or moved onto the cables according to the game results, adding an extra constraint for space management.

Win/Loss Condition

The conditions remain those of Nekojima: the game continues until the structure collapses or a specific game mode ends. The expansion primarily increases difficulty and the risk of error, making collapses more frequent and games more tense.
