How to play the Panorama game?

Game Setup

Each player receives a starting tile and a Hot Air Balloon pawn. The Panorama tiles are arranged in the center of the table according to the setup indicated by the rules. Common objectives are revealed for the game, while the Sun token determines the tile selection order.

Gameplay outline

  • In turn, a player moves their hot air balloon to select an available Panorama tile. The further away the chosen tile, the more interesting options they leave for other players.
  • The collected tile is then added to their personal landscape. As the game progresses, each player tries to create coherent terrain zones while optimizing the presence of animals, flowers, and elements that meet the common objectives.
  • Choices become progressively more complex as the panorama expands and placement possibilities diminish.

Win/Loss Condition

Once all tiles have been placed, players proceed to the final scoring. Points are obtained through combinations of animals and flowers present in each terrain type, as well as common objectives achieved during the game. The player with the highest total points wins the game.

  • Optimize animal and flower combinations

The scoring system's core relies on the association between animals and flowers. An area rich in flowers but poor in animals will yield few points. Constantly strive to balance these two elements to maximize your gains.

  • Master common goals

Endgame objectives can represent a significant number of points. Identifying from the start those that naturally align with your strategy allows you to effectively guide your placements.

  • Build coherent land

Creating large, connected zones facilitates optimizing the final score. Avoid scattering your landscapes by multiplying small, isolated spaces that limit development possibilities.

FAQ – All about Panorama

What is Panorama's core mechanic?

Panorama is based on a combination of tile placement and strategic selection. Players must build the most profitable landscape while managing the choices left for other participants.

Do the objectives change from one game to another?

Yes. The common objectives vary regularly, which refreshes possible strategies and significantly improves the game's replayability.

Is Panorama more of a puzzle game or a game of opportunity?

The game cleverly blends both aspects. Long-term planning is important, but knowing how to adapt to the available tiles remains essential for victory.

What differentiates Panorama from other tile-placement games?

Its hot air balloon-related selection system creates an original interaction between players. Each decision directly influences the pace of the game and the possibilities offered to competitors.
