How do you play Army Men?

Game Setup

  • Set up the playing area: choose a clear space on a table where your soldiers can move around.
  • Each player chooses an army of plastic figures and takes their specific action cards.
  • Shuffle the action cards and place them in a draw pile.
  • Arrange everyday objects (glasses, plates, cutlery, etc.) as makeshift obstacles or shelters: the table becomes the battlefield.

Gameplay outline

  • Players take turns moving their soldiers across the game board, using objects for cover or as a vantage point.
  • Through action cards, you can attack, camouflage yourself, move units, or trigger special abilities.
  • Placement, attack, and area control actions are at the heart of the game.
  • The game offers several scenarios: a duel mode, a 2-on-2 mode, or up to 4 players.

Win/Loss Condition

  • The first player or team to achieve the scenario objective (e.g., eliminate all enemy units or control a key location) wins the game.
  • If a special scenario condition is not met, the game concludes after a defined number of rounds; the player with the most surviving units or action points wins.
  • Use the table as a dynamic environment

Nearby objects (glasses, plates, cutlery) are not decorative: use them as cover, observation points, or obstacles to surprise your opponent.

  • Vary the placement of your soldiers

A dispersed army allows you to control multiple areas and anticipate assaults. Do not concentrate all your miniatures in one place, as you risk being vulnerable to an opposing mass effect.

  • Don't underestimate the action cards

Certain cards can turn the tide of a battle: save them for the strategic moment rather than playing them as soon as possible.
