How to play Biases?

Game Setup

Place 16 Suspect cards face-up in the center of the table to form a grid. The Game Leader secretly receives a card indicating which of these suspects is the culprit that the other players must find.

Then, prepare the stack of Question cards that will be used throughout the game.

Gameplay outline

  • In each round, a player draws a Question card and reads it aloud. The questions cover varied and intentionally provocative or absurd situations.
  • The leader answers only with Yes or No based on the hidden suspect. The other players must then eliminate certain suspects from the grid, relying on their own associations of ideas and the clichés they imagine.
  • Gradually, the number of suspects decreases until only one possibility remains... or until memorable debates are sparked around the table. In each new round, the role of leader changes so that everyone participates on both sides of the game.

Win/Loss Condition

  • The team wins the round if they correctly identify the hidden culprit before eliminating the wrong suspect.
  • The real challenge isn't just finding the right answer, but successfully following the leader's logic and the clichés used to guide the eliminations.

  • Phase out rather than abruptly eliminate

    Eliminating too many suspects too early greatly increases the risk of error. Take the time to cross-reference multiple answers before making a decision.

    Spontaneous reactions around the table sometimes reveal more than the answers themselves.
