Presse Patate is a frantic party game that turns a simple task (counting potatoes) into a real race against other players. Armed with a single pencil that they will constantly steal from each other, participants roll a die, perform the requested actions, and try to fill their "Patatomètre" before everyone else. Combining speed, reflexes, and laughter, games last about ten minutes and are guaranteed to liven up any gathering.

How to play Potato Smash?

Game Setup

  • Each player receives a Potato-metersheet, while the die and the single pencil are placed in the center of the table.
  • The player with the pencil is the only one allowed to write on their sheet. The others must roll the die to quickly retrieve the precious pencil and continue counting.

Gameplay outline

  • The game is played simultaneously.
  • The player holding the pencil continuously writes the numbers on their Spudometer. Meanwhile, all other players roll the die as quickly as possible to perform the indicated action and hope to get the pencil.
  • The pencil constantly changes hands, forcing everyone to resume their counting exactly where they left off. There's no time to rest: the pace is sustained from beginning to end, and the die never stops rolling. This simple mechanic creates an atmosphere as chaotic as it is hilarious.

Win/Loss Condition

The first player to score the number 50in the last box of their Spudometer immediately wins the game by shouting: “50 SPUDS!”

  • Always keep up the pace

Every second lost allows your opponents to gain an advantage.

  • Resume your count without hesitation

When you retrieve the pencil, immediately return to the correct number to avoid errors.

  • Roll the dice efficiently

The faster you throw, the higher your chances of getting the pencil back.

FAQ – All about Presse Patate

What is the principle behind Presse Patate?

All players are trying to fill in their score sheet, but only one pencil is available. So, they must constantly compete for it by using the dice results while continuing their own scoring.

Is the game difficult to learn?

Not at all. The rules can be explained in under two minutes and the game starts immediately. The challenge comes from the speed of execution and concentration.

Is chance important?

The die dictates the speed at which you draw, but speed, concentration, and your ability to resume counting immediately often make the difference.

Why choose Presse Patate?

Because it transforms an extremely simple mechanic into a completely wild party game. Accessible to everyone, quick to set up, and bursting with energy, Presse Patate guarantees games that are as boisterous as they are fun, where no one has time to catch their breath.
