Resistance is a social deduction and bluffing game that turns every game into an intense psychological confrontation. In this hidden role game, players embody either Resistance members or infiltrated spies tasked with sabotaging their missions without being unmasked. Discussions, accusations, secret votes, and manipulation become the only available weapons to discover who is telling the truth. Quick to explain and rich in interactions, Resistance has become an essential reference for fans of social deduction and tabletop tension.

How to play Resistance?
Game Setup
- Each player secretly receives a card indicating their allegiance. A game always pits Resistance members against a smaller group of infiltrating spies. Spies know the identities of other spies, while Resistance members have no information at the start.
- A first team leader is designated to form the group tasked with going on a mission.
Gameplay outline
- Each round begins with the selection of a mission team. All players debate and then vote simultaneously to accept or reject this proposal.
- If the team is approved, only the selected players participate in the mission. Resistance members must support the mission's success, while spies have the option to discreetly cause it to fail. Once the cards are revealed, the group analyzes the result to try and identify the traitors.
- Discussions then become crucial: who proposed the team, who voted against it, who seems too quiet or, conversely, too convincing? Every detail can become a clue… or a trap.
Win/Loss Condition
- The Resistance wins the game if three missions succeed. The Spies win if three missions fail.
- The Spies can also win if five consecutive team proposals are rejected during a single mission, plunging the group into political chaos.
Our Tips for Winning
-
Build a credible image from the very first rounds
In Resistance, first impressions matter a great deal. Avoid overly extreme behaviors so as not to attract unnecessary attention.
-
Analyze the votes as well as the mission results
A failed mission provides clues, but the votes often tell an even more interesting story. Look for consistencies and changes in behavior.
-
Never accuse without a clear objective
Multiplying accusations can muddy the waters but also risks diminishing your credibility. Every statement must serve a strategy.
FAQ – All you need to know about Resistance
What makes Resistance different from other bluffing games?
Unlike many elimination games, all participants remain involved until the end of the game, maintaining tension from the first round to the last.
Is it necessary to lie to win?
Not necessarily. Observing reactions, asking the right questions, and building a coherent logic are often more effective than pure bluffing.
Does the game work better with a large group?
Resilience truly comes into its own when discussions become more complex and temporary alliances naturally emerge.
Why are votes so important?
Each vote reveals information about players' true intentions and can help identify suspicious behavior.
