What are the rules of Skyjo Junior?

Game Setup

  • Deal 12 cards to each player, arranged in 3 columns and 4 rows, face down.
  • Place the draw pile in the center and turn over the first card to create the discard pile.
  • Each player turns over two of their cards to start the game.

Gameplay outline

On their turn, a player chooses between:

  1. Drawing a cardfrom the discard pile (visible) or the draw pile (hidden).
  2. Replacing a cardfrom their grid with the one they just drew, or discarding it.

Each time a card is replaced, the player flips it face up.

Goal: form columns of three identical cards (same symbol or same value) to score points.

Win/Loss Condition

The game ends when a player has revealed all their cards.

All players then turn over their hidden cards and count their points.

The player who has accumulated the most identical columnswins the game!

  • Observe the visible cards

Keep an eye on the cards revealed by your opponents to anticipate their moves and adapt your drawing choices accordingly.

  • Effectively manage your exchanges

Don't change your card every turn: wait for good opportunities to complete a column or block another player.

  • Prepare your grid intelligently

Keep strategic free slots to facilitate future replacements. A good placement is better than a hasty move.
