Discover Space Lab, a fast and accessible strategy game where you take charge of your own space station.
Recruit specialists from the four major global space agencies, build your modules, achieve objectives, and win the cosmic science race.
With a sustained pace and important decisions at each turn, this game is perfect for 20 to 30-minute sessions for 1 to 4 players.

How do you play Space Lab?
Game Setup
- Each player receives a station consisting of three modular pods.
- Shuffle both decks: Lab cards (60 cards) and Project cards (24 cards).
- Place the Objective and Validation tiles nearby according to the station diagram. Three objectives are assigned to each player.
Gameplay outline
In your turn, choose one of three possible actions:
- Reveal 3 Lab cards from the deck and keep those from the same agency. The others are sent to the Recruitment Centre.
- Recruit from the Recruitment Centre: take all cards from an agency already present there.
- Place Lab cards around your capsules: to do this, pay the indicated cost with the cards in your hand. This action becomes mandatory if you have 5 or more cards.
Each Lab card has a specialty (Doctor, Pilot, Researcher or Technician) and belongs to an agency. Their position around the capsules triggers immediate bonuses or helps to fulfill objectives.
Win/Loss Condition
The game ends when a player places their 10th Lab card orvalidates their 3rd objective.
Then, each player gets one last turn, after which points are counted based on:
- the effects of the Lab cards
- the Validation tiles obtained
- the Project cards acquired.
The player with the most victory points wins. In case of a tie, the number of Project cards serves as the tie-breaker.
Our Tips for Winning
-
Target agencies with high synergy
Not all cards are created equal: some agencies offer effects that combine better with each other. Identify good modules around your capsules early on and prioritize Lab cards that are built around your objectives. This will give you an advantage in terms of score and efficiency.
-
Play your hand carefully
When revealing Lab cards or purchasing from the Recruitment Center, be mindful of your hand size. Reaching 5 cards forces you to play – which can be good or bad depending on your situation. Balance keeping options open with not being forced into an untimely placement.
-
Anticipate the endgame
The end of the game can come quickly (even abruptly). Keep an eye on your progress, your opponents' progress, and the number of turns remaining. If you are close to a 10th placement or a 3rd objective, be prepared to maximize your points in that last turn.
