One player, the Psychic, knows the mystery word; the others must guess it through clues... but each clue comes with a dilemma! Sweet / Savory, Diplomatic / Brutal, Planning / Improvisation: your answers will guide the group towards the correct answer or sow confusion. Definitely fun, the game encourages improbable debates, crazy associations of ideas, and bursts of laughter.

How to play Sweet or Savory?
Game Setup
- Choose one player to be the Clairvoyant, the one who knows the mystery word.
- Shuffle the "Dilemma" cards, "Coordinate" cards, and "Word" cards according to the rules.
- Place the Letter/Number tiles within reach; they will be needed throughout the game to identify the correct combination on the word grid.
- Set up the 16-word grid (coordinates) in front of all the guessers: these words are the possible candidates for the mystery word.
Gameplay outline
- The Extralucid then draws a Dilemma card, which presents two opposing or contrasting words (e.g., "Mature / Immature," "Morality / Desire").
- They must choose one of the two words and announce it aloud. This choice serves as a clue for the other players to guide their thinking.
- The guessers discuss, debate, and collectively eliminate words from the 16-word grid that seem least compatible with the given clue.
- Depending on the progress of the game, Letter/Number tiles are placed to identify the exact combination of the mystery word. Players continue until the rounds are exhausted or until they find the correct word.
- If, at the end of the rounds, you have only one word left out of the 16 and it matches the mystery word, everyone wins. Otherwise, the mission collectively fails: everyone loses.
Win/Loss Condition
- Victory: players have successfully eliminated all wrong possibilities and identified the mystery word.
Defeat: if there are still several possible words or if the final mystery word is not selected, the team loses. As a cooperative game, success or failure is shared.
Our Tips for Winning
-
Nurture your team discussions
Don't let the Clairvoyant make decisions alone: encourage guessers to argue each elimination. The richer the debates, the more effectively you narrow down the grid.
-
Choose your dilemmas strategically
The Clairvoyant must choose between the two words of the dilemma: prioritize the one that fits best, but which is not too obvious to make the game fun. A dilemma that is too "easy" can lead to too quick an elimination, one that is too "difficult" can be confusing.
-
Use the Letter/Number tiles at the right time
Do not place all the Letter/Number tiles from the start: use them gradually, when the list is sufficiently reduced, to guide your final choices.
