How to play Totemic?

Game Setup

Shuffle all Totem cards and create the game reserve. Each player receives the cards needed to start the game, while the other cards are placed within reach to form the common draw pile.

Gameplay outline

  • In each round, players must choose a card from those available to expand their collection of totems. The cards collected are placed in their personal area, respecting certain placement and combination constraints.
  • The different animal families have particular ways of scoring points. Players must therefore observe the available opportunities, anticipate opponents' choices, and build their strategy around the best possible combinations.
  • The game requires finding the right balance between collecting the most interesting cards for oneself and preventing other players from completing their own combinations. Despite its small size, Totemic offers constant decisions and true tactical depth.

Win/Loss Condition

The game ends when all available cards have been collected or when the end-game conditions are met. Players then tally the points obtained from their totems and the various combinations made. The player with the highest score wins the game and becomes the greatest master of the forest spirits.
