How to play Village Pillage Robin Hood?

Game Setup

  • Each player starts with the same deck of villagers, a supply of turnips, and a protected personal bank.
  • Royal relics are placed in the center of the table, as are Hero and Villain cards that can be recruited throughout the game to improve your starting deck.

Gameplay outline

  • In each round, all players simultaneously choose two cards from their hand.
  • One is played against the player to the left, the other against the player to the right. Once all cards are revealed, their effects are resolved in a specific order. You can harvest turnips, steal those of your neighbors, protect your riches, or recruit new characters with more powerful abilities.
  • This version introduces several new features compared to the original Village Pillage. Players' wealth now influences some effects thanks to a mechanic that pits the richagainst the poor, while cards sometimes have a prioritylevel that determines the order in which their abilities are resolved. These new rules enhance tactical possibilities without making the game overly complex.
  • Throughout the game, you gradually improve your deck by recruiting the famous characters of Sherwood or their adversaries. Each new card expands your options and allows you to build a strategy adapted to your play style.

Win/Loss Condition

  • The accumulated turnips are used to purchase the four royal relics.
  • The first player to acquire all the relics immediately wins the game and claims the royal title.
  • Anticipate your opponents' cards

Since all actions are scheduled simultaneously, trying to guess their intentions is often more important than the power of your own cards.

  • Quickly recruit new characters

Improving your deck from the first few turns offers more possibilities throughout the game.

  • Manage Your Wealth

Some cards become more or less effective depending on whether you are considered rich or poor.
