Ideal for playing with family or friends, Wispwood provides renewed gameplay thanks to varied objectives and different configurations in each session.

How to play Wispwood?
Game Setup
Each player receives a personal grid representing their forest. A pond and several will-o'-the-wisp tiles are placed in the center of the table. The Objective cards are revealed: they define the scoring conditions for the game.
The game is played over three rounds, during which each player's forest will gradually expand.
Gameplay outline
In turn, you choose a will-o'-the-wisp around the central pond. This choice also allows you to select a shape to placein your personal forest. You must position this shape according to grid constraints and placement rules.
Once the trees are placed, you add the associated will-o'-the-wisp. Each color or type of will-o'-the-wisp has its own conditions for scoring points: alignment, adjacency, groups, or relationships with trees.
Players can also take a special "Tree" turn, allowing them to complete their forest and adjust their strategy by filling in certain spaces.
At the end of each round, points are scored according to objectives. The grid then expands for the next round, offering new placement possibilities.
Win/Loss Condition
After the third round, players tally their points from wisps and completed objectives.
The player who has created the brightest and best-optimized forestwins the game.
Our Tips for Winning
-
Optimize your forest space from the start
The first tiles you play determine the rest of the game. Try to create a flexible structure that will allow you to easily integrate new shapes later.
-
Anticipating common goals
Objective cards heavily influence the final score. Quickly orient your strategy toward the most profitable objectives for your forest setup.
-
Keep areas clear for future placements
Avoid filling your grid too quickly. Leaving open spaces allows for more complex shapes in subsequent rounds.
