Innovation Ultimate is the most complete edition of Carl Chudyk's famous expert card game. This version combines the base game Innovation, all its previous expansions, and a new expansion titled The Unseen, all updated with 4th edition adjustments. In it, you develop a civilization through the ages by playing inventions, ideas, and technologies that can turn the game on its head with each turn. Richer, more varied, and more explosive than the classic version, Innovation Ultimate is for players who want a dense, chaotic, and deeply replayable civilization experience.
How to play Innovation Ultimate?
Game Setup
- Install the card packs corresponding to the development ages, then choose the modules or expansions you want to integrate into the game.
- Innovation Ultimate can be played with the base game alone or with a selection of expansions to gradually enrich the experience. Each expansion adds new cards, new mechanics, and more possibilities for interaction.
- This edition also introduces an Age 11, representing recent or futuristic technologies, to further broaden the development paths.
Gameplay outline
- On your turn, you can play a card, draw, activate an ability, or claim an achievement.
- Each card represents a historical or technological innovation and has effects called Dogmas. These effects can advance you, attack your opponents, modify your board, accumulate points, or trigger spectacular combinations.
- Cards are stacked by color in your play area. By shifting them, you reveal more symbols, which strengthens your actions and improves your civilization engine.
- Innovation Ultimate adds even more variety with included expansions, new achievements, additional effects, bonus icons, and advanced mechanics such as oblique shifting or permanent removal of certain cards.
Win/Loss Condition
- To win the game, you must achieve the required number of accomplishments before your opponents.
- These accomplishments can be earned through accumulated points in your score or through certain cards that offer alternative victory conditions.
- With the expansions, the game becomes even more open: multiple paths to victory are possible, but each strategy must adapt to the game's constant twists and turns.
